【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesaquick,reliablemeanstomeasurethewetzero-spantensilestrengthofaspecimenofsheetedmaterial.Incaseswherefibersaretobetestedpriortofinishedproductionofpaperorpaperboard,arandomstandardaggregateofpulpfibers,orhandsheet,producedusingastandardizedprocedure,suchas,TAPPIT205isrequired.Thistestmethodrequiresspecimenssuchasthosedescribedin1.2.Whiletestingispossibleonfinishedpaperorpaperboard,informationonfiberqualityfromintermediatestepsinthepulpingorpapermakingprocess,orboth,isfrequentlymoreusefulforimprovingfinishedpaperandpaperboardqualityorimprovingfiberutilizationofrecycledfibers,orfiberssubjectedtonewpulping,bleaching,orfinishingprocesses(1,2,3,4).Themodificationsofthistestmethodrequiredfortestingfinishedpaperisstraightforward;however,testingshallbedoneinthetwoprincipledirectionsofthesheet,asrequiredinTestMethodD829.Thefinishedpaperorpaperboardwillgenerallyhavenonrandomfiberorientation,resultingindifferentstrengthpropertiesinthetwoprincipledirectionsofthefinishedsheet.Testingofsheetshavingagrammagegreaterthan100g/m,whichincludessomepapermaterialsdescribedaspaperandmanypaperboards,isdifficultbecauseofproblemsassociatedwithclampingofindividualfibersasthenumberoffibersperunitareaincreases.Modificationssuchasthosein1.5arenotdescribedinthistestmethod.Ifmodificationsaremade,theymustbeacknowledgedandclearlydescribedinthereportasdeviationsfromthestandardprocedure.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
