【摘要】:1ThispartofISO5659specifiesamethodofmeasuringsmokeproductionfromtheexposedsur-faceofspecimensofessentiallyflatmaterials,com-positesorassembliesnotexceeding25mminthicknesswhenplacedinahorizontalorientationandsubjectedtospecifiedlevelsofthermalirradianceinaclosedcabinetwithorwithouttheapplicationofapilotflame.Thismethodoftestisapplicabletoallplasticsandmayalsobeusedfortheevaluationofothermaterials(e.g.rubbers,textile-coverings,paintedsurfaces,woodandotherbuildingmaterials).2Valuesofopticaldensitydeterminedbythistestarespecifictothespecimenorassemblymaterialintheformandthicknesstested,andarenottobeconsideredinherent,fundamentalproperties.3Thetestisintendedforuseinresearchandde-velopmentandnotprimarilyasabasisforratingsforbuildingcodesorotherpurposes.Nobasisisprovidedforpredictingthedensityofsmokewhichmaybegeneratedbythematerialsuponexposuretoheatandflameunderotherexposureconditions,norhasanycorrelationbeenestablishedwithmeasurementsde-rivedfromothertestmethods.Thefactthatthistestprocedureexcludestheeffectofirritantsontheeyeshouldalsobetakenintoac-countwhenapplyingthetestresults.4Itisemphasizedthatsmokeproductionfromamaterialvariesaccordingtotheirradianceleveltowhichthespecimenisexposed.Inmakinguseoftheresultsofthismethod,itshouldbeborneinmindthattheresultsarebasedonexposuretothespecificirradiancelevelsof25kW/mand50kW/m.
