【摘要】:Materialsundergoanincreaseinmolecularmobilityattheglasstransitionseenasasigmoidalstepincreaseintheheatcapacity.Thismobilityincreasemayleadtokineticeventssuchasenthalpicrecovery,chemicalreactionorcrystallizationattemperaturesneartheglasstransition.Theheatflowassociatedwiththekineticeventsmayinterferewiththedeterminationoftheglasstransition.Theglasstransitionisobservedindifferentialscanningcalorimetryasasigmoidalorstepchangeinspecificheatcapacity.MTDSCprovidesatestmethodfortheseparationoftheheatflowduetoheatcapacityandthatassociatedwithkineticeventsmakingitpossibletodeterminetheglasstransitioninthepresenceofinterferingkineticevent.Thistestmethodisusefulinresearchanddevelopment,qualityassuranceandcontrolandspecificationacceptance.Othermethodsforassigningtheglasstransitiontemperatureincludedifferentialscanningcalorimetry(TestMethodE1356),thermomechanicalanalysis(TestMethodE1545)anddynamicmechanicalanalysis(TestMethodE1640)1.1Thistestmethoddescribestheassignmentoftheglasstransitiontemperatureofmaterialsusingmodulatedtemperaturedifferentialscanningcalorimetry(MTDSC)overthetemperaturerangefromx2013;120to+600x00B0;C.Thetemperaturerangemaybeextendeddependingupontheinstrumentationused.1.2SIunitsarethestandard.1.3TherearenoISOequivalentstothisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
