【摘要】:Manyphysicalandmechanicalpropertiesofwoodandwood-basedmaterialschangeinresponsetotheenvironmentalequilibriummoisturecontent,andanycomparisonofthesepropertiesmusttakemoisturecontentintoaccount.Aconsistentbaseforcomparisonamongdifferenttestsamplesanddifferentlaboratoriesisnecessary.Shrinkageanddimensionalchangeinparticulararedependentonmoisturecontent,andtestsinvolvingtheirmeasurementmustbeconductedwithgoodequilibriummoisturecontentcontrol.Conditioningcanalsobeimportantinindustrialsettingswherethereareoptimummoisturecontentlevelsformanyproductsandprocesses,andconformancetotheselevelscanreducelossesinqualityandyield.1.1Thisguidecoversstandardproceduresforconditioningandequilibratingwoodandwood-basedmaterialstoconstantmoisturecontent.Theproceduresapplytosolidwood,wood-basedfiberandparticulatematerialsandpanels,andwoodproductscontainingadhesives.Theyareintendedforuseinresearchanddevelopmentactivities,testinglaboratories,qualitycontrol,andforallotherclassesofproducersandusers.Thisguideincludesbackgroundmaterialontheimportanceofmoisturecontentcontrol,importantdefinitionsandtechnicaldata,possibletypesofapparatus,procedures,andtheimportanceofconditioningtime.Usersshouldrecognizethatthenecessarydegreeofprecisionandbiasvarieswiththeintentionsoftheusers.Someresearchandtesting,forexample,mightrequireveryclosecontrolofmoisturecontent,whereascontrolinanindustrialstoragefacilitymightnotrequiresuchclosecontrol.Thisguideoffersproceduresthatincludethesedifferentrequirements.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytotheproceduresection,Section6,ofthisguide.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
